What Our Users Say
Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory
It is very satisfying to recommend a business that delivers to services as Communicare does. Well done. Your approach, advice and assistance to NPY was professional and helpful as usual and as I would expect from your firm. I look forward to their upcoming implementation of Communicare aware of the hiccups that happen, but appreciative that you limit the bumps and ease the ride.
BTW, I have only heard positive feedback from WW with Steves fantastic guidance and training to them with implementing CCare. They are very happy with the way it has progressed. Good work Steve.
Well done Brian & Kerry in compiling such a professional team.

Patient Information Recall System (PIRS) Support Officer
Goolum Goolum Aboriginal Co-operative
We implemented Communicare in 2006, and since then it has become a vital component of our health service. The software was able to be customised to suit the way our clinics operate, and it has been great to be consulted on the ongoing improvements that have been made to the program. We have been very impressed with reliability of the program and the excellent support that is provided, and look forward to an ongoing relationship with Communicare into the future.

Laynhapuy Health Service
In October 2008 the Laynhapuy Health Service adopted the Communicare PIRS system. Consequently it is now with just in excess of 12-months experience of using the system as both a clinician and the services PIRS administrator that I express the following on behalf of both myself and the Laynhapuy Health Service team. Quite simply, thank-you.
The primary reason for our service undertaking a transition in PIRS systems was the need to find a more effective manner by which to collect and report clinical information obtained during comunity outreach visits. The Communicare system, the availability of the synchronised database and your ever prompt attention and assistance has ensured that this aim has been realised for the Laynhapuy Health Service.
In the achievement of this goal please be aware that this has and will continue to equate to improved service delivery by the Laynhapuy Health Service and in turn better outcomes for the poulation we service.

Katherine West Health Board
Recently, staff from Katherine West Health Board attended a very informative and interesting Communicare Healthy For Life training session in Katherine.
Along with the Healthy For Life report work I found the obstetrics and pregnancy module particularly interesting and very easy to understand. Ron is an excellent presenter and we had
a lot of fun whilst learning new aspects of Communicare. Many thanks.

Amoonguna Health Service
We have been utilising the Communicare Patient and Information recall Systems for around seven years.
Having completed basic, advanced and the train the trainer courses, I feel very comfortable in using this system and I have assumed responsibility in providing the basic training of our staff at Amoonguna.
Most recently, Amoonguna has employed 3 new Aboriginal Health Worker (AHW) students. Computer systems can be very frightening to those that have limited or no exposure to computers. I have found that with the basic training I offer, our new AHW students come familiar with the program and its applications very quickly.
I have also had the experience of training an AHW who had worked in the health field for over 25 years and she is now totally competent with the program.
The reason for this letter is to highlight to potential customers the ease with which Communicare can be used and modified to suit individual clinics and services.
I thoroughly recommend Communicare to any Aboriginal Health Service considering purchasing the system as the program is designed primarily for this purpose. The program is easy to use and understand and the training support offered both onsite and remotely leave me confident that all new clients will be able to see the benefits of having Communicare immediately from its installation.
I hope this reaffirms the confidence that the Communicare staff have in their product as I have seen the benefits of having the program, the ease with which all staff members can utilise the program and know that the on line support is there 24 hours per day.

Yarra Valley Community Health Service
This is a small note of appreciation for the wonderful support we received from Brian and Heidi during the recent Communicare implementation. I would like to express my appreciation for the training we received, which was delivered professionally and in a very supportive manner taking into account the particular needs of our staffing base.
In addition, we have been delighted to discover the many ways that Communicare can support our health team not only to record client contacts and details, but also how, as a tool, it can map how our interventions and service delivery improve the health outcomes of our Indigenous clients.
Thank you, we look forward to a lasting relationship and partnership.

Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Services Social Support Unit
Just wanted to let you know that the visit from your team to OVAHS Social Support Unit last week went very well. Heidi and Steve were very patient, professional and no request seemed too much trouble.
We have ended up with a customised system which I believe we could not have got elsewhere. Do not hesitate to refer other potential customers to me for a recommendation
on the setting up process.

Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Service
In March 2004 we reviewed our Patient information Recall System (PIRS) and found that it did not cater for a holistic approach to primary health care. Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Service provides the ACT and surrounding areas with a holistic service and as such we need a PIRS that could meet our requirements within the guidelines.
After we reviewed Communicare and had comprehensive demonstrations, it was decided that Communicare could meet our holistic approach and it was implemented on 26 July 2004.
Communicare provides a user friendly interface with a flexible database for recording, reviewing and reporting on all aspects of our service. Kerry from Communicare stated that "no Aboriginal Medical Service is the same and they build the system from a shell to meet our requirements". I can attest to this as at Winnunga Aboriginal Health Service I have been involved in building the program to meet the needs of our service.
Communicare has proved over the last 3 months to be a valuable tool for our organisation as we are already getting reliable and accurate stats. Users are happy with inputting their data and one staff member who was resistant to the computerised approach now is using it with enthusiasm and retrieving reports to assist them in their workload.

Anyinginyi Congress Aboriginal Corporation
For the past 6 months we have been using Communicare at Anyinginyi Congress Clinic. The selection of Communicare for our automatic recall and clinical information requirements occurred after a detailed work-place audit and review of available software. During this phase I was very impressed with Brian Dunstan’s ability to demonstrate his product appropriately and his willingness to meet our needs. Communicare was clearly the superior product for our service.
Implementaiton and training was a remarkably smooth procedure, especially considering that many of our Health Workers had never used a computer before. This testifies to both the ease of use of the product, and the skill of the trainers (and the adaptability of our Health Workers!). ‘Go-Live’ occurred on a Thursday (a quiet day) with the trainer still present, leading to a quite painless transition.
We use Communicare extensively for clinical encounter recording, report generation and also management of administrative tasks such as bus list and specialist appointment maintenance. The flexibility of this software is one of its greatest strengths, allowing it to adapt to changing needs.
Ongoing support has been first class, and a Internet Communicare User Group organised by Brian has been a useful way of keeping in touch with other providers using the product.
I have no hesitation in recommending Communicare for any Community based Health Service.

Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Inc.
(Communicare) has provided congress with a multi-user dynamic
real time clinic monitoring system, that facilitates all of the features
that we considered essential for a new medical information
system.
Perth Aboriginal Medical Service Inc.

Communicare is easy to use and requires little training. It assists in the major clinical functions required of a patient management system, including recording patient conditions, demographics, recalls due and health summaries .. easy production of lists of patients due for interventions such as immunisations .. dove-tails with MIMS Script.
Dr Tim Leahy

Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service
We have been using Communicare since 1995 ... an invaluable tool in many aspects of data management ... the regular generation of recall lists [is] extremely useful ... Communicare is somewhat like the introduction of the telephone... to cope without it again in the future was not something that I would readily look foward to.
Dr Toby McLeay

Wirraka Maya Health Services
Communicare .. offers us a way of organising information about patients in a readily accessible way and offers the power to recall patients with certain
specified conditions who need follow-up.
